Geogrid under Foundation For shallow foundation, the foundation itself is based on soil layer directly. Thus, the soil have to be able to support the foundation with the apply load. In some cases, we cannot increase the foundation size or use other type of foundation because of the budget of the project. So, if the bearing soil is not strong enough to support the foundation, We need to find some way to increase the bearing capacity of the soil. Geogrid is one of many methods to do that. This tutorial will show you how to model and do the analysis of foundation with geogrid installed under soil layer beneath it. After watching this video, you can find the bearing capacity of the foundation without the geogrid and with the geogrid. Finally, you can compare those results.
